Tyler Rose - WIP 2

As an extension of the last blog where I began this painting, I continued the use of quinachrodone coral, I began to lay in the mid-values in the pedals, painting completely over the shadow layer I previously painted. To create the roundedness of the petals, use a darker hue where the petal rolls away from the viewer, then go back with a damp brush (not wet) and soften the edge as the petal comes toward you. It gives the illusion of dimension. Using a mixture of sap green and more ultramarine, I painted shadows on the leaves and began lightly layering a few of the leaves with a sap green and a touch of transparent yellow.
