Thought I'd do a self-portrait and had a bit of fun with it. But painting in front of a mirror isn't my cup of tea, though I used a mirror reference for several stages. Instead... I made faces at my camera!
I began with glazing color. That was the one thing I knew I wanted - lots of fun color. But the jaw was drawn funky. I didn't notice it until I sent a copy to my mom. Even with watercolor, you can fix a problem.

Debbie, Your portrait is so great.. Every artist should do that of themselves.
I truly like the way you did this.
Hi Debbie - loved your self-portrait - it really captures your personality - loved seeing it - Best to you and Hugs, Charlotte Wall, Baton Rouge
*grin* I love the look.
Sure missed the opportunity to hang out with you this summer. Maybe next year you could have a painting trip to southeastern Ohio? Say, mid-June?
We've been missing you as well, N'otter! Painting Ohio sounds dreamy!
