Koi painting - Untitled

Now that I'm back in town from a month of traveling to workshops, I had to get back in the studio after a few days break from the painting world. This afternoon I decided to work wet-into-wet and paint this painting in about 3 hours. I worked the bakground very quickly, then while it wa damp, lifted out the shapes of the koi. After it was nearly dry, I painted the koi. The pigments were a mixture of opaques and transparents, some were granulating... ultramarine, raw sienna, cad yellow, indanthrone, cerulian, blue apetite genuine, permanent alizarin, cobalt red, cobalt yellow, winsor violet
